    Amy Stephens MSW, RSW

    Amy Stephens MSW, RSW

Amy is a Registered Social Worker and a prominent counsellor in Kingston with over 19 years of experience providing evidence-based counselling to individuals, couples, groups, and families. Specializing in assisting adults and seniors with difficult life transitions, she has worked in a broad range of settings across various provinces and cities. Amy has collaborated with several non-profit organizations and coalitions to help victims of sexual assault, domestic abuse, and human trafficking.

Having worked as a Social Worker at one of Canada’s leading academic hospitals, she has also been involved in programs specializing in rehabilitation, palliative, and complex care. In addition, Amy has participated in community outreach, providing social work services to clients in their homes who are dealing with a range of concerns from hoarding to substance use.

Her extensive experience includes working with clients facing issues such as depression, PTSD, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, abuse, relational issues, and narcissistic abuse. Furthermore, she has expertise in assisting individuals and families living with acute and chronic disabilities, medical conditions, mental health disorders, and those requiring home care services, retirement home, and long-term care home assistance.

Amy also specializes in sports psychology, particularly in sports and athletic performance enhancement. As a former competitive athlete and coach, combined with her years of psychotherapy experience, she understands the significant impact mental health can have on practice and performance outcomes. Her sports performance enhancement counselling is designed to identify and address athletes' concerns affecting their skills, such as stress management, fears, lack of motivation, confidence, mindset, and mental toughness. This approach offers a toolkit for increased success and enjoyment in sports, ensuring optimal performance.

    Angela Colebourne, RP (Q)

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and  a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), I offer a compassionate, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported.

I hold a master’s degree in counselling and psychotherapy and bring over 19 years of teaching experience, including a strong background in special education. This informs my work with neurodivergent individuals and those navigating complex emotional experiences, using an affirming, strengths-based approach that honours your unique way of experiencing the world.

My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed practices. Together, we build practical coping skills while also exploring the deeper patterns, core beliefs, and internal “parts” that shape your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, supporting meaningful, lasting change.

I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, stress, self-esteem challenges, and addiction. Therapy is collaborative, paced to feel safe and manageable, and focused on helping you build resilience, deepen self-awareness, and reconnect with your authentic self.

    Shay Mirzaeisabet, RP (Q)

Sometimes clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed and stuck, believing they should already have everything figured out. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a trusted counsellor in Kingston, I approach each client with compassion, respect, and openness, providing a safe and collaborative environment for growth.

My practice is strength-based and trauma-informed, integrating elements of DBT, CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-based approaches. I support clients with anger management, trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, communication difficulties, emotional regulation, family conflict, relationship challenges, and stress management.

I work with young and experienced adults, honouring their unique beliefs and values. I hold a certification in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which helps clients replace distressing images linked to trauma with positive, empowering ones.

I have also had the privilege of working with individuals in Addiction and Mental Health Centers, youth in conflict with the law, as well as serving individuals with substance use issues at Addiction Treatment Centres.

Services are offered in-person and virtually. I aim to help clients heal from childhood trauma and move beyond patterns that no longer serve them.

    Our Philosophy

We believe that everyone has the potential for growth and change, and that therapy can help unlock that potential. As trusted counsellors in Kingston and across Ontario, we provide a safe and supportive environment where our clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment.

We understand that the most important component of therapy is the relationship between the client and their therapist. Building trust and a solid therapeutic alliance is essential for growth to occur, and we bring this philosophy into our counselling sessions.

We look forward to this journey of health, self-exploration, and growth with you.
